Rebuild Trust

  • Increase communication between the Board of Trustees and the community.
    • Parents, students, teachers, and community leaders should have a voice within the district. They need reassurance that their concerns are heard, and requests are acted upon.
  • Increase more family and community engagement within the district.
    • Partnerships with families and community leaders that are intentional. Planned activities that would generate more involvement of what’s happening in the district.

2

Promote Safe Schools (Externally and Internally)

  • Provide a culture of safe schools where environments are positive and free from bullying by other students.
  • Enforce effective disciplinary practices that enlist positive behavior interventions within the campus environment.
    • Administrators and teachers need more support with effective disciplinary practices that correct behavior and promote learning. Learning stops for all students when discipline is not aligned with a district’s core values.
  • Conduct monthly threat assessments and interventions that are available to the public.
    • Parents need to know if their child is going to be safe throughout the school day. Teachers need to feel safe coming to work every day.

3

Increase Academic Achievement

  • Collaborate with Administrators and Teachers to support curriculum management and delivery.
    • Teachers are the content experts. They know what to teach but need support in Best Practices.
  • Empower Students and Parents with Curriculum Transparency that supports student learning and data driven outcomes.
    • Students and Parents need to know what they are supposed to learn, and whether or not content mastery is achieved.
  • Promote Literacy and STEM Programs at the forefront of academic development by partnering with local colleges and universities, as well as nonprofit groups.

4

Advocate for Fiscal Accountability by Fort Bend ISD to Taxpayers

  • Continue to maintain fiscal responsibility by accounting for all spending within the district.
    • Taxpayers will be provided an unbiased and direct approach in understanding of how and where their tax dollars are spent.
  • Eliminate taxpayer funded lobbying and advocacy groups who influence how district funds are spent.
